Mini First Aiders
Our Mini First Aiders training for young people starts from nursery school age upwards.
Young minds are like sponges and it’s amazing how much little ones can remember. Delivered in a practical way learning about how someone might look if they’re poorly, how to turn someone on their side and calling 999. Learning in small groups in 20 minute sessions.
Popular Mini First Aiders courses are for year 6 pupils and a wide range of skills and knowledge are taught including:
• CPR
• Recovery position
• Choking
• Asthma
• Epilepsy; and a variety of conditions
A ‘Test your knowledge’ games is played in teams at the end; and schools may choose to award prizes; and Certificates are awarded on completion.
Draft proposals as part of the wider Health Education Classes in England 2020 plans to add CPR as part of the National Curriculum. I’m really hoping that this proposal is passed as it means that more of our young people will have the necessary lifesaving skills to help others within the community.
Mini First Aider sessions can be delivered on site in Greater Manchester, including Stockport, Ashton, Rochdale and throughout the north west.
